Cyclone Phet...the next day

Bubba, Kendall, and I got out of the house to see what damage Tropical Storm Phet did to Oman. Our area had lots of water, but not near as much as other places got. Some places had a lot of damage as well. The newspapers reported there have been 24 deaths (some of them children) and 4 people missing. Most of those deaths are from people playing or letting their children play in the wadis which are dry riverbeds that contain water only during times of heavy rain. The people around here don’t see rain that often, so when it does rain they go down to these wadis and have picnics and let the children run in the water. Then sometimes the children or even adults get swept up in the current and well you know the rest. It so sad because it could be prevented. Some of the pics below are from around our house and around Oman.

They have a ways to go

This area is called CCC

This is why you don't build anything down in a wadi
The clean up begins
I don't see this store opening for a while
Expensive SUV that didn't fair too well
Water, water every where
